Privacy Policy
PackMate (“we”, “us”) is a packing checklist app for trips, gym, work, and everyday plans. This policy explains what information the app handles, why, and the choices you have. It applies to the PackMate mobile app.
What stays on your device
PackMate is local-first. You can use it as a guest, without an account. Packing lists, checklist items, always-pack items, saved destinations you type in, reminder settings, theme, and other preferences are stored on your device so the app works offline.
We do not collect your precise location, contacts, photos, or camera. Destinations are text you enter, not GPS.
Account information
An account is optional. If you create one, we collect:
- Name
- Email address
- Password, handled by our authentication provider (we do not store your password in the app)
If you sign in with Google, we receive the name and email address Google shares with that sign-in. Guest mode does not require an email.
Synced data
If you sign in and sync is available, we store a copy of your account data so it can follow you across devices. That can include your profile, preferences, packing lists (titles, trip context, destinations, dates, and progress), checklist items and notes, reminders, and saved destinations.
This data is stored with Supabase. Access is limited so each signed-in user can only read and change their own records. If you stay a guest, this information is not uploaded.
Notifications
Reminders are scheduled on your device after you allow notifications. They cover the reminder types you turn on, such as packing reminders, upcoming trips, and incomplete checklists. You can change or turn off reminders in the app and in your device settings. We do not use notifications for third-party marketing.
Advertising
The app shows ads through Google AdMob, including app-open and native ads. Google may process device and advertising identifiers, IP address, and ad interaction data to deliver and measure ads, according to Google’s Privacy Policy and How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services.
Where required, the app asks for consent before personalized ads (Google’s consent form). You can also limit ad personalization in your device settings (on Android, Settings → Google → Ads).
Analytics
PackMate does not currently send usage events to a third-party analytics service. A setting to limit analytics is available in the app for if that feature is turned on later. If we add an analytics provider, we will update this policy before doing so.
Sharing
When you share a list or the app, your device’s share sheet sends that content to the app you choose. We do not receive the recipient.
We do not sell personal information. We share information only with service providers that run the app (authentication, optional cloud sync, and advertising), when you ask us to, or when the law requires it.
How long we keep it
Information on your device stays until you delete it, clear the app’s storage, or uninstall PackMate. Synced account data stays until you delete your account.
To delete your account, open PackMate, go to Settings → Account → Delete account, and confirm. That removes your sign-in, profile, and synced packing lists. You can also email contact@brixsapps.com from the address on your account and ask us to delete it. We delete the account unless we must keep a limited record for legal, security, or fraud-prevention reasons.
Your choices
- Use PackMate as a guest and keep lists on the device.
- Turn notifications off in the app or in system settings.
- Limit ad personalization in system settings and, where shown, in the consent form.
- Delete your account in the app under Settings → Account, or email us to request access, correction, or deletion.
Children
PackMate is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has given us personal information, email us and we will delete it.
Security
Account passwords are handled by the authentication provider. Synced records are protected so users can only access their own data. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure.
Changes
If this policy changes, we will update the date above and post the new version on this page. Continued use of PackMate after the update means you accept the revised policy.
